Word!
What happens when you take 3 guys and cool ass thrashy hardcore then mix it up an then eat it? You get Life In A Burn Clinic! LIABC are one of the best west coast bands around today kicking ass and taking names. Definatley rockin' music you can get into. Go buy their brand spankin' new album INDIVIDUAL RITES and get crazy in the pit. Here's an interview I (Branden) conducted with drum master Jimmy Stewart in the month of august!
------------------------------------------------------------
T.O.D: Wuddup jimmy!
L.I.A.B.C: Greetings!

T.O.D: For anyone out there who doesn't know who you guys are, give us a description of the band and it's history.
L.I.A.B.C: Well , we are a three piece fast hardcore band from LA. We started as friends playing together for the fuck of it and we just havent stopped. Our goal has always been to keep expanding ourselves, be more creative, adventurous faster, harder, more dubious.

T.O.D: Who plays what and why are they so damn good at it?
L.I.A.B.C: Ah thanks Branden, thats very nice of you. Mark Loftin plays guitar, Steve Wilenkin plays bass and I play drums. They both do vocals. Steve and Mark have both been playing their instruments for a long time. I only started playing drums in this band but I was a bass player for many years before that. I think its all the pot that makes us good. Maybe a little bit of the pot we smoke but mostly the pot that you smoke.

T.O.D: What do you think of the current west coast scene?
L.I.A.B.C: I think its pretty much like most of America - very fragmented, small shows often organized by unorganized people. Its the underground. There has always been a lot of great bands on the west coast thats for sure.

T.O.D: What kinda music are you guys into? Musical influences? Anything unusual I can laugh at you about?
L.I.A.B.C: Probably. Between the three of us we listen to many different forms of metal, punk rock, extreme hardcore, jazz, classical and some electronic/noise/dark ambient shit. I also like the At The Drive In record that might be bad, I dont know.

T.O.D: Uh, yeah it is.How was it recording the new album? Was it stressful or a fuzzy warm experience?
L.I.A.B.C: It was kind of a fuzzy warm stressball that lasted forever. We did a lot of things wrong but we learned many important lessons. The next one will go much smoother. - or so we keep telling ourselves.

T.O.D: Are you guys going on tour? If so when and where?
L.I.A.B.C: We are hoping to do some small one or two week trips but otherwise its pretty much weekends for us. We all have jobs that keep us shackled. We may get a good chunk of the west coast dates on the Dave Brockie Experience tour which is a more punked up side project of some of the Gwar monsters.

T.O.D: What are your thoughts on 2 Pac?... Do you really think he's dead?.. How many videos canthat dude put out if he's so dead eh?
L.I.A.B.C: Hes dead, Ive seen autopsy photos. Never underestimate MTVs willingness to exploit the dead.

T.O.D: What was your guys' best show? What made it so damn groovy?
L.I.A.B.C: I dont know, probably some party or warehouse somewhere. Our last show at Als Bar was pretty cool. Whenever there are heads either interested in listening to us or, preferably, getting involved by thrashing around like lunatics, we are having a good show.

T.O.D: What was the shittiest show you guys have played? What made it so damn shitty?
L.I.A.B.C: Well, we just played two shows that were affiliated with Skratch Magazine that completely sucked ass. Bad mix of bands brought out shitty crowds

T.O.D: What would be your dream show?..What bands (any band, existing or broken up) would you just love to play with?
L.I.A.B.C: Id love to play with Slayer, Nile, Neurosis, Sabbath, Lack Of Interest, Fugazi/Minor Threat reunion, Cryptic Slaughter reunion, Spazz reunion and Bjork because I would really like to explore her sensitive side.

T.O.D: What's in your cd player these days?
L.I.A.B.C: New Neurosis, old Murzbow, Blessing The Hogs, Crash Worship Live 95, a new Art Blakey cd,

T.O.D: Do you have a funny ass tour story? If so...gimme the details!
L.I.A.B.C: No when we play its all serious business.

T.O.D: Where can I go or who can I contact to get all sorts of cool ass Life In A Burn Clinic merch?
L.I.A.B.C: www.LIABC.com.You can email us for shirts and stickers and mailing list. There you will also find links to other life-enhancing information in our Resources section things like where to get good books online. We really care about our fans.

T.O.D: Oh and it shows. One thing the extreme hardcore kids are dying to know about you is who your favorite new kid on the block?
L.I.A.B.C: I dont know but it aint that Kid Rock guy what a douche

T.O.D:Word to the muthafucka. Anyone you wanna thank?
